New: JCSE/Microsoft/Nokia Evening School

Developing Mobile Apps for Windows Phone 7

About the course

Smart phones, feature phones, tablets – everywhere we look people are downloading and running “apps” on their mobile devices. Between June and August 2011 the JCSE teamed up with Nokia South Africa to offer a very successful Evening School on developing Mobile Apps. The top apps earned their developers great prizes and are soon to appear on Nokia's Ovi Store.

Are you a software developer? Have you ever thought about learning how to write software applications for mobile devices?  Do you have a great idea for the next KILLER app?

Between 4th October and 8th November the JCSE is partnering with Microsoft South Africa and Nokia to present our second Evening School on developing mobile apps. The focus this time is the Windows Phone 7 platform.

Overview of Model Based Process Improvement

One-day course

An Executive Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)

All organisations hope to improve their performance. Some will focus on better quality, others on improved delivery times or cost reductions. It is often possible to improve business performance by adopting a strategy to improve key processes within the organisation. CMMI is a widely used example of a "Process Improvement Model". These models help organisations to both measure the quality of their processes and provide a "roadmap" to guide process improvement activities.

Introduction to People Capability Maturity Model (P-CMM)

HOW GOOD IS YOUR ORGANISATION AT MANAGING ITS PEOPLE

The People Capability Maturity Model®(P-CMM) is a framework that helps organisations improve their workforce management practices. This three-day course introduces those who are involved in managing people to P-CMM Version 2.0, its fundamental concepts, and the value it can bring to organizations using it.

The P-CMM is a framework that organizations can use to attract, motivate, and retain talented staff. The practices in the model help an organization be an employer of choice and ensure that the staff has the competencies and capabilities to achieve the organization's current and future business objectives.

Introduction to CMMI

The three-day course, “Introduction to CMMI”, introduces participants to the fundamental concepts of the CMMI model. The course assists companies in integrating best practices from proven discipline-specific process improvement models, including systems engineering, software engineering, integrated product and process development and supplier sourcing.
