Gauteng SPIN - Object Oriented Design

Tony Yunnie develops and presents Object Oriented and other system development and management courses for FTI (Faculty Training Institute) in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban presented how there are many reasons for this – one of the key reasons been the lack of attention given to Design and specifically OO Design by many development teams. Serious attention is often paid to requirements discovery and to developing the required programmes but not enough attention is paid to Design.

One of the differences between OO development and traditional development is that while design is important in traditional developments it is crucial in delivering on the promise of OO, possible the most important step in the process. Get the OO Design wrong and the system under development will be crippled for life.

There are a range of concepts, ideas, rules, guidelines and patterns to be considered during OO Design. This talk will briefly touch on some of these points and show how they work together to deliver flexible, robust, reliable, reusable and extendable systems.
